Kent Anderson, Raise the Bar founder and Managing Director, is a qualified Business Coach and Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner. A successful business owner in his own right, Kent has helped hundreds of businesses reach their goals since Raise the Bar’s inception in 2008. He is also a highly sought after public speaker and is currently on the Advisory Board of the International College of Management Sydney (ICMS).
Kent tells the story of Raise the Bar’s beginnings: “I was running my pub business and it was growing nicely but it was when I engaged an executive coach and had an effective mentor that I noticed massive changes.” Kent recalls, “At the time I was also coaching Rugby on the side. It seemed astounding to me that if people were playing in a sporting team they accepted they needed a coach but when it came to running multimillion dollar businesses so many just ‘wing it’. And we wonder why businesses don’t reach their potential!
I’d experienced the outstanding results of effective business coaching through my pub and felt the rewarding nature of being a coach through my Rugby coaching and knew I wanted to combine the two.”
Kent became fascinated with the coaching process and after two years of studying and working with one of the world’s largest coaching companies, Shirlaws, Kent started Raise the Bar Hospitality Network. Within eighteen months Raise the Bar had expanded from its Hospitality niche into the Property Development, Legal, Retail, Automotive, Marketing and Real Estate industries to name a few.
